The Managing Director of the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF), Government of Sindh, Mr. Gahanwer Ali Laghari, conducted a field visit to SEF-supported schools in Malir and Korangi districts today. The visit was part of the Foundationβs continued efforts to ensure the provision of quality education and improved learning outcomes in underserved areas.
Mr. Laghari was accompanied by Director Programs & Planning, Mr. Nisar Banbhan; Regional Head Karachi, Mr. Ashfaque Hussain Mirani; District Heads Ms. Humera Naz Fayyaz (Karachi-I) and Mr. Kashif Hussain (Karachi-II); and Junior Officer Mr. Furqan Ahmed.
The SEF management and team visited several Foundation-Assisted Schools located in Haji Jabli Goth, Sherpao Colony, Bin Qasim Town, Park Town Korangi, and Ittehad Colony Korangi.
During the visit, the Managing Director reviewed the academic setups, classroom environments, ICT-integrated instructional practices, and the functioning of computer and science laboratories. He appreciated the efforts of partner organizations for their dedication and valuable contributions to SEFβs mission of promoting equitable and quality education.
While engaging with school partners, Mr. Laghari emphasized the need to intensify enrollment campaigns, particularly targeting out-of-school and street children. He instructed school partners to display admission banners not only within school premises but also throughout the surrounding catchment areas.
He placed special focus on the promotion of pre-primary education and community mobilization to enhance access to education, especially for marginalized groups such as girls.
Highlighting the importance of an enabling academic environment, the Managing Director stated βSchool partners must ensure that children are provided with all necessary facilities that support their learning and eliminate any barriers to comprehension or academic progress. A conducive learning environment stimulates curiosity and nurtures a thirst for knowledge, which is essential for the holistic development of children. The Foundationβs program teams must continue to work consistently across all supported schools to uphold these standards.β
Following the school visits, the Managing Director also visited the SEF Anita Ghulam Ali Education Complex in Korangi to inspect the progress of ongoing construction work. He instructed the concerned teams to convene a coordination meeting with the Engineer and the Education Works & Services Department to review current developments and strategize for the timely completion of the project.
This visit reaffirms SEFβs commitment to strengthening school systems, enhancing educational access, and ensuring quality standards through regular field engagement, community involvement, and institutional collaboration.
